Father & Son Clubs
The Father-Son Club is open to fathers and their sons. It teaches the boys to become men of character. They learn to overcome difficulties, to stick to a task until it is finished, to respect others, to aspire to higher ideals. For the fathers, the club provides tools to help them educate their sons to be this sort of man. Fathers are expected to attend the monthly meetings with their sons.
Retreats
Retreats are conducted by priests of Opus Dei, a personal prelature of the Catholic Church. These silent retreats consist of daily Mass, spiritual talks by priests as an aid to prayer, adoration, rosary, stations of the cross, and practical talks by laymen.
Evenings of Recollection
Recollections are generally two hours long. They consist of a series of activities designed to form one’s spiritual life. They include:
A preached meditation, wherein a priest talks on a spiritual topic for about half an hour. His listeners may listen and quietly reflect on his words, or conduct their own silent conversation with God.
An extended examination of conscience wherein the leader reads certain points of examination aloud while other participants reflect on them. These examinations explore one’s interior attitudes and likeness to the Lord.
An opportunity to engage in spiritual direction and/or sacramental confession.
Eucharistic adoration and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament.
